Korean skincare is popular, and that makes it easy to copy. These checks help you protect your skin and your money, whichever store you buy from.
1. Check where it comes from
Buy from sellers that source directly from authorized Korean brands and distributors, and ask where their stock comes from. This is how Skinpop sources every product. Read more on our Authenticity page.
2. Compare the packaging
Compare the box, bottle, spelling, logo and ingredient list with the brand's official product page. Spelling mistakes, blurry printing or a different ingredient list are warning signs.
3. Look for batch code and expiry
Original products carry a batch code and an expiry date or an open-jar (PAO) symbol. Check that they are present, readable and not scratched off.
4. Check the seal
New products should arrive sealed. A broken seal, missing outer box or signs of refilling are reasons to stop.
5. Watch the price
A price far below what authorized sellers charge is a common sign of a copy or an old, expired batch.
6. Trust your experience
If you already use the product, a different smell, texture or colour from what you know is worth checking with the seller or the brand.
If you're unsure
Stop using the product and contact the seller. If your skin reacts, stop using it and speak to a doctor. You can reach us at support@skinpopeg.com or on WhatsApp at +20 104 387 4742.
